Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi wins Festival Award

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, the highest grossing YRF-Shah Rukh Khan film till date which broke all previous box records for Yash Raj Films, has won the ‘Grand Prix of Peace Category’ Trophy and a Grand Cash prize at the celebrated Okinawa International Movie Festival which was staged from March 20-28 in Okinawa, Japan.


Released worldwide on December 12, 2008 was directed by Aditya Chopra, starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan in a unique role. He was instantly adored as the immensely lovable and simple-minded Surinder Sahni and the fun-loving Raj. Anushka Sharma made a sparkling debut as the lively and sweet Taani.

By winning the ‘Grand Prix of Peace Category’ Trophy-the most popular award as voted by the audience entirely- RNBDJ proves yet again that it has struck the right chord with millions of people thronging to the Okinawa International Movie Festival from all parts of the world.

The festival aims to create a new type of video and movie festival at which all people can come to understand one another through movies and videos under the banner of ‘Laugh and Peace’ and it is competently supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Okinawa Times and Okinawa Broadcasting Co., Ltd.

SRK and Anushka aka Suri and Taani say a big ‘thank you ji!’ to the Japanese people they met on their honeymoon and everybody who loved them.
